The new year has brought new energy and
a new CD. "Long Lonesome Journey" will be pressed in a few
short weeks. Copies will be available on line for $10.00 for 12
songs. I’m very proud of the material and all the players that
contributed to the session ... Jack Holder works more magic!!
No sooner than I master the CD, and I
have a new track -- "Change, Change". Believe it or not, we have been able to get this track onto the new CD! I’ll post the lyrics soon.
I've been featured in the Spring Issue of Posh New Mexico Magazine. A great write up. Great magazine ... 55,000
copies distributed. I hope to have this article posted also.
Michele May (above), the publisher, has been a
huge supporter of my music and has me switching gears. I'm
attending writer nights, songwriter sessions and meeting new people.
In June I’ll be a stage manager at Folk Fest in Albuquerque. What a great way to meet people and do
something I'm very familiar with. Jonathan Edwards will be one of
the Main Stage Acts. He had a song called "Sunshine" back in
the late 60's, early 70's.
We've added a myspace page that has
been getting a few hits also. www.myspace.com/powercountry
The best news of the new year is WEGR
Memphis Rock103 has been airing "Fashion In Action" on Sunday nights, as well as
a few times during the week. They do a show called The Great
Unsigned. "Fashion In Action" was recorded in Memphis by a strong
Memphis line up including Jack Holder on guitar and production.
I found 4 of my old recordings on a CD
for sale on the internet in the UK. That was a shock. It turns out
Dave Whitelock of Smoking Frog Productions put the CD together. Dave
used to live in Memphis and had the recordings. Warm Night, My Side
Of Town, Heartbeat Lovin' and High Time You Knew are featured on "Tadpole Tale". Not my best stuff by a long shot.
The band has a few local gigs booked,
however … songwriting is going to take the front seat this year.
Change, Change … Again Soon ~ David
